3M moved from Toronto to Milton to a larger facility inclusive of warehouse space. Their objectives included providing a ‘wow’ space to accommodate client visits as well as achieving LEED certification. 3M embarked upon the project to aquire the new Head Office facility with intent to highlight key products while also accomodating existing furniture. They had specific ideas which they brought to the table upon engaging Mayhew.
3M allocated a modest budget, and specified a requirement
to achieve LEED Certification. Mayhew leveraged the
space plan provided by the client and challenged 3M to
use their products in a new and innovative way throughout
the space to highlight and create key customer focal areas.
Mayhew also modified the space plan while still meeting all
client requirements.
Mayhew met the client objectives while delivering an
innovative design featuring product applications, sizeable
meeting rooms for large multi-office gatherings, and
collaborative breakout spaces to support brainstorming
and idea sharing.
