Position Summary:
The Mayhew Warehouse Associate (forklift driver) is primarily responsible for the safe and accurate handling and storage of client inventory within our warehouse environment. This includes processing orders, shipments, returns of product, and recording the movement of parts, supplies, materials, equipment and stock to and from the organization. The Warehouse Associate is to ensure that work is being completed efficiently, while at the same time ensuring product is being processed in a professional and timely manner. Working within a customer service oriented environment, the incumbent is expected to be responsive to the needs and concerns of internal and external clients and demonstrate thorough product knowledge and handling.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Include but are not limited to...
- Treat all incumbents as an internal customer with integrity by understanding and satisfying their roles and responsibilities to provide exceptional service
- Carefully handle all materials entering and exiting our Warehouse environment (both new product and existing client inventory)
- Operate an electric counter balance swing mast forklift and both an electric and manual pallet mover in narrow aisles
- Assist with shipping/receiving and palletizing product
- Pick orders and ensure that all required product is accounted for in accordance with delivery and installation schedules
- Must be capable of loading and unloading of furniture and equipment to and from warehouse
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping areas neat and orderly, disposing of garbage and recyclable materials and complying with regulations
- Display knowledge and understanding of the basics of product application
- Understand the seriousness of maintaining a safe working environment by following and continuously enforcing company health and safety standards
- Understand that a professional image must be presented at all times in order to maintain the professionalism and integrity of the company (i.e. uniforms, proper tools, clean work spaces, etc.)
- Ensure adequate inventory of Mayhew stock product, materials and equipment in accordance with inventory cycles (i.e. Smart Space, etc.)
- Research and resolve inventory and/or system problems or discrepancies that may arise and notify management
- Review internal processes and recommend amendments/improvements to increase efficiency/productivity
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and ability to work efficiently with various tools and equipment
- Displays characteristics of an energetic, flexible team player
- Possess physical attributes required to safely handle product (i.e. heavy lifting, carrying, stair climbing, etc.)
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Consistently handles multiple job duties in an efficient manner
